Durability is only one part of the Refashion eco-modulation opportunity. Alongside the durability bonus, the 2026 Refashion framework includes bonus pathways for environmental certification and the incorporation of recycled raw materials. At the same time, penalties for metalloplastic fibres and embedded electronics can affect a product reference, and a product subject to a penalty cannot receive a bonus.
For brands managing large and varied product portfolios, the challenge is therefore broader than asking, "Does this product need durability testing?"
Teams need to understand which eco-modulation pathways are relevant to each product reference, how bonuses can be combined on the same reference, what could prevent eligibility, and what evidence is required to support each route.
