PPWR Is Here: Understanding Packaging Testing and Compliance Evidence
Recordings will be provided after the session
Thursday, 29 October 2026
Session 1: 9am UK time (GMT) / 5pm China Standard Time
Session 2: 9am PDT / 12pm EDT
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) has generally been applied since 12 August 2026. It affects brand owners, retailers, importers, distributors and packaging suppliers across apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, toys, homeware, furniture, food, electrical goods and more. If your business supplies packaging or packaged products to the EU, you need to know which requirements already apply to your packaging, who is responsible for meeting them and what evidence supports conformity.
Join Eurofins Sustainability Services for a practical, 60-minute session on PPWR testing, technical documentation, operator roles, and the EU Declaration of Conformity. We will look at substances of concern, where testing can add useful evidence, and how supply-chain traceability can help you plan for requirements that develop towards 2030.
What you will learn
- Which PPWR requirements apply now and which are phased in over the coming years
- How manufacturer, importer, distributor and producer roles differ, including private-label scenarios
- What a manufacturer’s technical documentation and EU Declaration of Conformity need to cover
- Where supplier information may leave evidence gaps, and when relevant testing can help
- How to review your packaging portfolio and prioritise formats that need further attention
