The European Union is set to replace the Directive 2009/48/EC (Toy Safety Directive) with a new Regulation (Toy Safety Regulation), which has been received the final draft approved from the EU Council in June 2025. The new proposed Regulation introduces significant changes aimed at enhancing user's safety when playing with toys.
The new Regulation is expected to entry into force in late 2025. Given the new Regulation will place substantial changes in the toy industry, brands, manufacturers, and stakeholders should be fully prepared, ensuring compliance with the requirements outlined in this new Regulation.
