    The ACE Program verifies that unrecognized or non-standard components identified in MET Certified products remain unchanged and continue to meet applicable safety standards. 

    Why is Annual Component Evaluation Required? 

    Under the OSHA NRTL Directive, Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) must maintain procedures for evaluating safety-critical components that are not certified or have a non-standard design.

    Supports ongoing compliance with OSHA NRTL requirements.

    How the ACE Program Works 


    • 1. Component Identified

      During the MET certification process, an unrecognized or non-standard safety-critical component is identified and documented in the MET listing. 

       




    • 2. Testing Requirements Defined

      The MET Listing identifies the required evaluation, testing and estimated testing hours for the component. 

       

    • 3. Annual Evaluation

      Beginning on the first anniversary of the report's initial release, the identified component is evaluated annually. 

       

    • 4. Compliance Verified

      MET Labs performs the required constructional review and component testing to verify that the component remains unchanged and continues to meet applicable requirements. 

       

    Centralized Testing

    Ace component testing is now centralized through our Baltimore, Maryland Laboratory. Performed by experienced engineers and qualified MET representatives.

    The ACE Program is the process Eurofins E&E verifies unrecognized components identified in MET Certified products remain unchanged. This is achieved by performing constructional reviews and predetermined component testing.

    ACE component evaluations are performed annually starting on the first anniversary of the report’s initial release and then each subsequent anniversary.

    All ACE components are listed in your MET Listing(s) with specific instructions. See caption below.

    ACE testing can be performed by any approved Eurofins E&E NA representative lab, or by a qualified MET representative during your Follow-Up Inspections. Check with your Eurofins Account Representative to identify the best option and which location can complete the ACE testing.

    The cost for ACE testing is based on the number of hour(s) listed by every component in your MET Listing. See caption below.

    Yes, all NRTLs must have an internal procedure to monitor unrecognized components per the OSHA NRTL Directive.

    Yes, historically we requested MET Listing Applicants to do self-submittals and performed component evaluations and or sample selection during Follow-Up Inspections. To improve our efficiency, we are now centralizing all component testing through our Baltimore, MD facility.
